The Role
We’re looking for a Business Analyst with vision, drive, and technical fluency to help us shape the future. In this role, you’ll be involved in the strategic initiatives to elevate our FinOps product suite and establishing a scalable, customer-centric AI capability across our platform.
You will work cross-functionally to translate vision into reality, partnering with stakeholders across software engineering, data engineering, customer success, and delivery. Your role is pivotal in identifying customer pain points, validating new ideas, and turning them into scalable solutions that power MagicOrange’s mission of financial transparency and intelligent decision-making.
Product Discovery & Research
- Conduct in-depth customer, market, and competitor research to identify emerging trends, unmet needs, and high-impact opportunities.
- Translate complex business problems and customer insights into clear product initiatives and requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across business, technical, and customer-facing functions to validate and prioritise product ideas.
- Drive continuous discovery through customer engagement, feedback loops, and data-driven validation.
Solution Design
- Execute the product roadmap: align cross-functional teams around strategic goals, timelines, and customer outcomes.
- Create and maintain product documentation such as epics, user stories, use case flows, product requirements, and feature specifications.
- Partner with design and engineering teams to conceptualise, iterate, and refine product features that balance usability, scalability, and innovation.
- Advocate for quality, performance, and reliability across the full product lifecycle.
Product Delivery & Execution
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritisation to ensure smooth and efficient execution of product deliverables.
- Act as the point of contact for scope clarification, requirements, and day-to-day product guidance.
- Participate in acceptance testing and product sign-off to ensure alignment between build and intent.
- Collaborate with release, QA, and support teams to ensure high-quality delivery, including feature readiness, training, and documentation.
- Manage risk and scope change thoughtfully while maintaining momentum and stakeholder alignment.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment on priorities and value delivery.
- Act as the voice of the customer—balancing competing needs and championing user-centric design and decision-making.
- Facilitate workshops, demos, roadmap reviews, and feedback sessions with key stakeholders.
- Partner with marketing, customer success, and sales teams to support go-to-market, enablement, and ongoing customer success.
- Continuously track product adoption, usage patterns, customer satisfaction, and business impact.
Educational Background
- Matric
- Degree or relevant technical qualification
Previous Experience
- 2 - 3 years of solid experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner or Product Manager in a related field
- Theoretical and practical project management knowledge
- Knowledge of Azure, SQL, Databricks, Angular, JavaScript would be useful but not required
Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in SaaS or enterprise tech, a bonus if in FinOps, cloud, or financial domains.
- Sharp analytical and research skills; able to turn insights into impactful product decisions.
- Strong understanding of product discovery, roadmap planning, and agile delivery.
- Excellent communicator—confident with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable collaborating across teams, time zones, and cultures.
- Tech-savvy and curious, with a strong grasp of AI trends and product potential.
- Proactive, detail-obsessed, and outcome-driven, you make things happen.
