Our International Offices Projects and Change team plays an important role in enabling that growth, working across business and functional areas to deliver complex projects, organisational change and new capabilities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst  to join our London-based Fund Services team.

Reporting to the Principal, International Offices Projects and Change, you will lead the identification, analysis and articulation of business requirements across a diverse portfolio of projects and change initiatives within AustralianSuper’s International Offices.

This is a senior, hands-on Business Analyst role where you will provide in-house expertise across requirements engineering, operational impact assessments, process modelling, data modelling and wider project analysis.

You will work with stakeholders across AustralianSuper’s International and Australian offices, partnering with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to understand complex business needs, assess the impact of change and help translate requirements into practical solutions.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

Business Requirements & Analysis

  • Lead business analysis workstreams across complex projects and change initiatives.
  • Identify and engage relevant stakeholders, determining the most effective approach to understanding and documenting their requirements.
  • Lead requirements gathering through workshops, interviews, process observation and document reviews.
  • Translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
  • Apply a range of business analysis techniques including root cause analysis, user story mapping, user journeys, use cases, process mapping, SIPOC, value stream mapping and wireframes.

Operational Impact Assessment

  • Lead assessments to understand how projects and change initiatives will impact processes, systems, data and other elements of the International Offices operating model.
  • Develop structured approaches to documenting current-state environments and assessing the impact of proposed changes.
  • Help stakeholders understand organisational impacts and identify considerations required for successful implementation.

Process Modelling

  • Lead the documentation of current and target-state processes using standardised Business Process Model and Notation approaches.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to understand and model complex business processes.
  • Work effectively with stakeholders at different levels of seniority and with varying levels of process-modelling knowledge.
  • Apply relevant techniques, including lean principles, to produce high-quality process outputs.

Data Modelling & Analysis

  • Lead analysis relating to data models and complex data requirements.
  • Investigate data issues and dependencies that could affect project outcomes.
  • Use data analysis to strengthen business requirements and support effective project design and decision-making.

Project Delivery & Governance

  • Lead structured analysis to support effective decision-making across projects and change initiatives.
  • Create high-quality project artefacts including business requirements documents, traceability matrices and business process models.
  • Document requirements through user stories, use cases, prototypes and wireframes where appropriate.
  • Work within project delivery governance frameworks to ensure business analysis activities support successful project outcomes.

What You'll Bring

You are an experienced Business Analyst who is comfortable operating in complex asset management environments and leading analysis across large-scale projects and transformation initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst, including responsibility for leading business analysis workstreams across complex or large-scale projects and programmes.
  • Significant Business Analysis experience within the asset management sector.
  • Experience supporting technology vendor and SaaS implementations.
  • Experience across portfolio management, trading or investment capability implementation, together with associated operational areas such as Operations, Risk and Legal.
  • Experience delivering regulatory change, including FCA regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting operating model and capability change across people, processes, systems and data.
  • Strong data modelling and analytical capability.
  • Proven ability to apply and tailor Business Analysis methodologies, tools and techniques to different projects and business challenges.
  • Strong facilitation and workshop skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience producing business requirements documents, traceability matrices, process models, user stories, use cases and prototypes or wireframes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present information appropriately for different audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
  • A practical, collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to take ownership and drive analysis through to an outcome.

Qualifications

  • A professional Business Analysis or equivalent qualification, such as the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis, is essential.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Project Management or a business-related discipline would be advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications such as an MBA, CFA, ACCA or CIMA would also be highly regarded.
