Summary Generated by Built In

We’re looking for a proactive, technically minded and solutions-focused Business Analyst to join our team in Toronto, supporting healthcare technology that helps clinicians and patients access the information they need.

You’ll work on provincial-level healthcare solutions in Ontario, including applications that enable healthcare providers to view patient records and residents to access their own health information. Working closely with customers and Orion Health teams including Product, implementation consultants, engineering, and QA, you’ll translate complex needs into clear requirements and help ensure the delivered solution meets those needs.

This is a role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, building trusted customer relationships and working through complex requirements. You’ll combine strong business analysis skills with enough technical understanding to interpret healthcare data, discuss APIs and connect system behaviour to user needs.

We welcome applications from intermediate and senior Business Analysts. Your ability to work independently, communicate clearly and deliver high-quality requirements will matter more than your current job title.

What you’ll be doing

As Business Analyst at Orion Health, you will:

  • Lead discussions with customers and clinical stakeholders to understand, clarify and document their business needs.
  • Define current and future workflows, use cases and functional requirements.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements specifications, describing how application functionality and user interfaces will meet customer needs.
  • Maintain traceability between business requirements, system specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews, incorporate feedback and obtain agreement on requirements before implementation.
  • Work with Product and delivery teams to assess feasibility, explore alternatives and identify enhancements or changes to scope.
  • Interpret API specifications and healthcare data responses, helping map information to application functionality and user interfaces.
  • Support implementation consultants, engineering and QA by resolving requirements questions and contributing to test planning.
  • Help investigate reported issues and establish whether they relate to data, application behaviour, defects or a change in requirements.
  • Participate in demonstrations, prepare release notes and support customer acceptance testing.

About you

You’re a Business Analyst who can bring structure to complex information and turn conversations into clear, actionable requirements.

You’re comfortable leading stakeholder discussions independently, asking thoughtful questions and working through competing expectations. You can navigate challenging stakeholder conversations constructively and confidently, know when to seek input, and take responsibility for following through on actions to completion.

You’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of relevant BA experience within software delivery, implementation or a comparable environment. More experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated experience in independently gathering requirements, producing functional specifications and coordinating stakeholder reviews.
  • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to write requirements that implementation and QA teams can confidently work from.
  • Technical understanding sufficient to interpret API documentation and structured data such as JSON.
  • Experience supporting internal testing, user acceptance testing and the clarification of defects or change requests.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the confidence and tact to navigate challenging stakeholder conversations.
  • Strong organisation and follow-through across multiple workstreams and detailed deliverables.
  • A collaborative, practical approach to problem-solving.

Preferred experience:

  • Healthcare technology experience, including familiarity with clinical terminology and workflows
  • Knowledge of FHIR or other healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Experience supporting Ontario healthcare programmes would also be valuable.
