ARC Business Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in software development, Agile delivery and organizational change for opportunities with clients.
ROLE:  BUSINESS ANALYST
The Business Analyst will bridge business and technical teams across the full software development lifecycle: eliciting and documenting requirements, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, coordinating testing in Jira, keeping process documentation current, and preparing end users for change through training and communications. Candidates with utility sector experience will be given additional consideration.
The successful candidates possess demonstrated experience in the following areas:
 MANDATORY:
 
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst on software development projects, across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  2. Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting business and functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
  3. Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams, including serving as Scrum Master (facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives)
  4. Project management experience, including managing scope, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and status reporting
  5. Working knowledge of ITIL practices, including incident, problem, change and release management
  6. Experience creating, updating and maintaining process documentation, including current and future state process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and business rules
  7. Experience planning and executing testing in Jira, including writing test cases, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) and tracking defects through to resolution
  8. Experience supporting organizational change management (OCM), including stakeholder impact assessments, communications, and developing and delivering end-user training and training materials
  9. Ability to work effectively with all levels of the client organization
  10. A successful track record of delivering solutions
  11. A minimum of 2 client references from your most recent projects are required to confirm these mandatory qualifications

 DESIRABLE:
 
  1. Experience in the Utilities sector (power, natural gas, water, oil and gas); this is considered a strong asset
  2. Familiarity with utility business systems such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, work and asset management, outage management or GIS
  3. Experience working in Government, Crown Corporations or delivering solutions to Provincial Departments
  4. Relevant certifications such as CBAP/CCBA (IIBA), PMP or CAPM, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), ITIL 4 Foundation, or Prosci or equivalent change management certification (or in progress)
  5. Experience with Confluence or other Atlassian tools, and Jira test management add-ons such as Zephyr or Xray
  6. Experience in Business Process Reengineering
  7. Experience facilitating workshops or JAD sessions
  8. Experience developing business cases or business case summaries
  9. Experience developing Use Cases or UML models
  10. Experience documenting data models and working with SQL for data analysis and validation
  11. Experience with projects spanning multiple technical environments and enterprise applications
  12. Experience working within an Enterprise Architecture environment
  13. Experience implementing web-based and cloud solutions

A degree or diploma in Computing Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field, and/or relevant industry certifications, are desirable criteria for our selection.
