Job Summary
The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing market trends, sales data, and operational performance to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making. This role plays a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing business processes, and enhancing profitability within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data, customer demographics, and market trends to identify opportunities and challenges within the medical supply business.
- Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing key performance metrics, sales forecasts, and market share analysis.
- Market Research:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, product gaps, and competitive threats to inform business strategy and decision-making.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial statements, budget variances, and profitability metrics to assess the financial health and performance of the medical supply division.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation decisions.
- Business Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement.
- Recommend and implement solutions to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and optimize resource allocation.
- Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
- Provide analytical support and insights to senior leadership to inform strategic planning, business development, and investment decisions.
- Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and risk assessment to evaluate potential outcomes and mitigate risks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Experience in business analysis, financial analysis, or related roles, preferably in the healthcare or medical supply industry.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience working with business intelligence software and database management systems, SQL Scripting, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and reimbursement models.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Working Conditions
- Works in office area(s), warehouse, pharmacy, and some positions work in a long-term care environment (i.e. nursing home, drug rooms, nurses’ stations, resident rooms, etc.).
- Moves intermittently during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved with customers, and customer representatives, family members, residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Communicate with the designated facility staff, nursing personnel, residents, or family members.
- Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
Education
Must possess and maintain any and all necessary active and unencumbered certifications, degrees, or licenses in the necessary state, to the extent the position requires such certifications, degrees, or licenses.
