SUMMARYThe Business Affairs Director will manage all business facets of video, print, and digital productions for clients including reviewing creative concepts from development through delivery, management of legal issues, production and talent contracting, clearance and licensing of third-party materials, and budget administration. This person is a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and able to work in a fast-paced creative environment.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborative Creative Problem Solving
Review creative materials and advise Agency teams on talent, copyright, trademark, and intellectual property issues and advise on next steps (in tandem with agency and client legal counsel). Building on creative ideas with practical solutions. Partner to producers, working as their right hand throughout productions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Talent, IP, and Finance
Negotiate and oversee the creation of celebrity, influencer, and over scale agreements. Develop music licensing agreements. Manage all Talent releases and payments. Consult with Third Party Signatory on any SAG-AFTRA productions. Handle all re-negotiation for talent and music. Report talent usage to third party payroll service. Production financial oversight including reviewing bids and final estimate with producer prior to award meeting. Upon award, create and issue appropriate award documents including production contract, licensing and talent agreements, and vendor purchase orders. Issue talent contracts, session reports and final cast. Process invoices and track costs along with producer. Communicates with producer, brand team, and finance on all issues affecting financials of a project.Tracking and overseeing all talent reporting, payments, and renewals.
Team building, mentorship, and department development
Strong mentorship qualities to help train and support producers, other members of the business affairs team and account teams. Management of Traffic team for precise delivery of all agency materials. Clear vision on the type of department you wish to develop.

QUALIFICATIONS
8 or more years of experience at an Ad Agency, Production company, Talent agency, or in-house Brand experience.
Knowledge of business affairs including all aspects of production, talent and music.
Legal background is not required but encouraged.
Ability to understand and interpret standard legal documents like vendor agreements, releases etc.
3 or more years of experience in leading a team
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience required
