Position Summary

The Business Advisor serves as the liaison between business users across FMG and the IT department, ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement. This role partners with stakeholders to analyze business needs, define requirements, troubleshoot issues, manage projects, develop solutions, provide user training, and lead complex cross-functional initiatives across multiple locations. As a member of the IT Applications Team, the Business Advisor provides functional and technical support, serves as a subject matter expert for assigned applications, and maintains expertise in the business processes they support to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.


Domestic travel may be required.


Essential Functions

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, building strong relationships to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and opportunities for process improvement within Finance and Controlling functions.
  • Analyze business processes and requirements, collaborating with stakeholders to identify solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and functionality while translating business needs into functional specifications.
  • Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and support of SAP FICO solutions, ensuring system capabilities align with business requirements and organizational goals.
  • Manage project activities, including scope, schedule, cost, deliverables, user documentation, training materials, and end-user training to support successful solution adoption and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Expertise in Finance, Controlling, and Payroll business processes, with knowledge of applicable statutory and regulatory requirements across commercial and military business environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP FI and/or CO modules, including the ability to support, enhance, and optimize financial and controlling processes while translating business requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage priorities, and deliver business-focused solutions.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies established by FMG and have high values for safety awareness

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 10 Years of ­combined business and technical experience required

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand or walk; use hands and arms to grasp, reach and type; stoop or kneel; and speak or hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. The position is primarily performed in a quiet, climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to moving equipment, elements, or risk of injury.
