Amentum is now hiring a Budget Specialist (Senior) position in support of Product Manager Force Protection Systems (PM FPS) and Product Manager Ground Sensors (PM GS) at locations both CONUS and OCONUS. This project will provide PM FPS and PM GS a multitude of product support activities to include spares, warehousing/kitting management, maintenance, transportation, shipping, fielding, equipment operator training, contractor equipment operators, field support representatives (FSRs), systems sustainment and design engineering, and supplier or total asset visibility management of Integrated Base Defense (IBD) and Force Protection (FP) family of systems (FOS).Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide budgetary support to DOD acquisition efforts.
- Analyze, advise, and provide technical assistance in preparing budgets. Review proposed financial plans for completeness, accuracy, conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
- Seek new ways to improve efficiency and lower costs.
- Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program trade-offs, and explore alternative funding methods.
- Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect budget expenditures.
- Evaluate budget in terms of organizational priorities and financial resources. Assist in the preparation and justification of budget requests.
- Analyze accounting records to determine financial resources required to implement program and submit recommendations for budget allocations.
- Recommend approval or disapproval of requests for funds.
- Advise staff on cost analysis.
- Perform various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and/or execution of budgets for organizations, programs, or projects.
- This work requires knowledge and skill in the application of related laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods and techniques of budgeting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
- Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience managing complex enterprise budgets. Experience with DoD acquisitions is required.
- Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET Clearance.
