Budget Analyst III
Role and Responsibilities
The Budget Analyst III will support US Space Force, Space Systems Command, SATCOM Division, SSC/CGS with a broad range of expert-level program, acquisition, and financial Support capabilities to execute effective and responsive integrated program management of space-related research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition activities.
-US Citizen and an active DoD Secret clearance required.
The successful candidate will provide expert-level cost and acquisition program support to Space Force customers in El Segundo, CA, working in the premier space acquisition organization responsible for delivering strategic SATCOM capabilities and effects to our warfighters and allied partners.
-This is a hybrid remote position with minimum one day in office at client site.
Work Locations: Los Angeles AFB or Peterson AFB. Residents in Los Angeles, CA and Colorado Springs, CO preferred.
Description of Duties:
- This position will provide a broad range of financial management, in particular assisting with Government budget integration, for the SSC. This includes all aspects of Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE) and Commitment/Obligation/Expenditure Reconciliation; Execution and Audit Readiness; and Budget Authority Management. Qualified personnel will provide support for budgets, foreign military sales funding, other foreign Government funding, and International Partner Agreements, as well as assist with the timely and accurate analysis, forecast, and reporting of commitment, obligation, and expenditure data.
- Apply program management and systems engineering best practices and experience to develop solutions for our customer’s most challenging issues.
- Develop strategic briefings and reports for officials that summarize technical and programmatic issues, financial constraints, and accomplishments.
- Manage information requests, inquiries, and tasks through completion.
- Perform research and analysis that summarize relevant issues, incorporate policy and guidance, addresses government, industry, and international partner perspectives to provide recommendations and/or potential courses of action.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A minimum of 7-10 years of financial management experience supporting federal government space acquisition programs.
- US Citizen and an active DoD Secret clearance required.
- This is a hybrid remote position with minimum one day in office at client site.
- Demonstrated expertise in budget management for complex information technologies, simulations, models, operations, and research tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in advising decision makers on significant issues related to cost.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments.
- Possess analytical, assertive, creative, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently to resolve complex issues.
- At a minimum has Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) or higher in finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, computer science or a comparable STEM degree.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting government cost estimation and acquisition programs.
- Has previous experience providing independent cost assessments.
- Experience with the U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Air Force.
