Job Overview: DXC is seeking a skilled SAP BTP Core ABAP Extension Developer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) using Core ABAP and other extension tools. The ideal candidate will be adept at working within SAP’s Clean Core principles, building scalable and maintainable extensions that enhance SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, efficient, and impactful solutions aligned with business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Extension Development: Design and develop ABAP-based extensions on SAP BTP to enhance and customize SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications, adhering to Clean Core principles.
- Side-by-Side Extensibility: Implement side-by-side extensions using ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) to ensure the SAP core system remains uncluttered by custom code.
- Integration with BTP Services: Leverage SAP BTP services, such as SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Integration Suite, and API Management, to support custom ABAP extensions.
- Performance Optimization: Ensure all extensions are optimized for performance and scalability within SAP BTP, following best practices and SAP guidelines.
- Code Quality & Security: Implement secure coding practices, conduct code reviews, and ensure all extensions comply with organizational security standards and SAP’s best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with functional teams to gather requirements and ensure extensions meet business needs without compromising SAP core integrity.
- Documentation & Support: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed extensions, configurations, and customizations and provide ongoing support as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of ABAP development experience, with at least 1 year of experience in SAP BTP Core ABAP and extension development.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) and Cloud ABAP.
- Experience with side-by-side extensibility in SAP BTP, following Clean Core principles.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 for front-end development and user interaction with extensions.
- Knowledge of SAP BTP services, including SAP Integration Suite and SAP HANA Cloud.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and data protection within SAP environments.
Other Qualifications:
- SAP Certification in Cloud ABAP or Extension Suite.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices for SAP, including CI/CD.
Work Environment:
- It is expected, at this time, you may be required as part of the job function to travel up to 50%.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $80,400 - $149,300.
Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
