Maslow Media Group is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the equipment that supports broadcast and transmission services. The Broadcast Engineer will work with analog, digital, IP-based, and AV systems. Support live, hybrid, and recorded productions, resolve technical issues and ensure all systems and workflows align with industry standards and internal procedures.

Location: Newark, New Jersey, On-Site

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair broadcast, transmission, and AV
• Monitor broadcast signals to ensure high-quality audio and video
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with broadcast systems in a timely
• Set up and operate broadcast and AV equipment for live broadcasts, recordings, and hybrid events.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, internal procedures, and operational best
• Perform routine system checks and preventive maintenance to minimize broadcast
• Collaborate with the production team to understand and support technical requirements.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in broadcast, AV, and hybrid production
• Provide in-person, hybrid, and virtual video technical support for broad, high-level, and complex webcasts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in broadcast engineering, audiovisual technology, or a closely related field, with a strong track record supporting complex technical environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with broadcast and AV systems, including broadcast cameras, routing systems, lighting, video switchers, audio mixing consoles, video projection, AV control systems, and both PC and Mac platforms.
• Strong understanding of current broadcast and AV industry standards, technologies, best practices, and operational procedures.
• Solid understanding of DSPs, signal flow and routing, IP- and PC-based video technologies, networked AV systems, and hybrid broadcast facility operations.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret wiring diagrams, CAD drawings, schematics, and other technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of a range of industry-leading hardware and software is preferred, including Evertz router panels and Magnum, RTS intercom systems and AZedit, Barco EC-50 and E2, Ross XPression and Ultrix Carbonite, ETC Ion lighting consoles, Panasonic PTZ cameras, Sony HDC2500–3500 cameras and MX-8000X video switchers, Yamaha CL5 and Soundcraft Vi5000 audio consoles, AJA Ki Pro Ultra, Shure ULX wireless microphone systems, Riedel intercom, Dante audio, and Blackmagic Design equipment.
• Experience managing video files and media workflows, including uploading, downloading, compression, transcoding, and file conversion.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with the composure and resourcefulness to respond effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure production environments.
• Ability to work closely and effectively with production teams, technical staff, department leaders, and other stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with a polished professional presence and the ability to confidently interact with department leaders and executive-level stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail, combined with the ability to identify opportunities, recommend alternative technical setups, and implement improved operational approaches.
• Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation of technical issues, solutions, and system configurations while providing thoughtful recommendations and alternatives to management and team members.

Preferred Skills:

• Broadcast IT & Networking Expertise: Experience with IT infrastructure and networking technologies as they apply to broadcast and media systems.
• Technology & Collaboration Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Excel, and Teams, as well as Zoom Webinar and Zoom Meetings.
• Industry Certification: Certification from the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), AVIXA (CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D), or a comparable professional organization is preferred.

Day to Day:

• This is a full-time, onsite position based in Newark, NJ, with a five-day workweek. Schedules may vary to accommodate event and operational needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and monitor operations across multiple auditorium and broadcast facilities, helping ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 40+ lbs. as needed.
• Comfortable walking between buildings throughout the workday.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and work comfortably in compact control rooms and around equipment racks.
• Business casual attire is required while representing the team in a professional environment.

Pay Range: $45-$47/Hour 

At Maslow, we are committed to equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The salary range provided represents the good-faith compensation band we anticipate for this role at the time of posting.

Individual compensation within this range will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors including, but not limited to: relevant education, professional experience, demonstrated competencies, technical expertise, certifications, scope of responsibility, geographic considerations, applicable regulatory requirements, and overall business needs.
