Job Description
The Daily Beast is seeking talented, motivated, and dependable Breaking News Interns to join our award-winning newsroom on-site in New York. Open to undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate students and post-grads, the internship program is an exciting opportunity for emerging journalists to learn how a newsroom works while gaining hands-on experience. The roles are full-time (37.5 hours/week) for three-month periods, and will include some evening and weekend shifts.
Ideal candidates are newshounds who can work quickly, write cleanly and with some flair, and both take initiative and direction.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, as we are always looking for eager and talented candidates—at present, we are looking for interns to work across Spring 2025 dates, most likely starting in March or April."
Qualifications
* Experience writing breaking news.
* A voracious news diet and appetite that covers politics, pop culture, power, and big issues in national and global conversations.
* Prior knowledge of web publishing and using a content management system is a plus.
* Comfort meeting quick deadlines.

The pay range for this position is: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and other factors. The Daily Beast is a globally recognized publication at IAC with our headquarters in New York City.
