Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the teamThe Design team works across most projects at Stripe—from our brand standards to campaigns, events, digital products, and even printed publications. And since Stripe’s main audience is other people who build products, we agonize over and take pride in crafting user-friendly and user-focused experiences.
The Brand Design team lays the foundations that help Stripe accelerate. We do this by creating, evolving, and maintaining Stripe’s high-quality, versatile, and forward-looking visual identity design system. We sweat the details. We make it seem effortless.
Our team—and our design efforts—are multipliers for Stripe and Stripes. Our focus on principles, systems, and standards makes it easier for all Stripes to get work done—at a high quality bar, while still creating space for evolution and innovation. Collaborating with other teams at Stripe, as well as select external partners, we raise the quality and consistency of interactions with the Stripe brand.
Brand Designers at Stripe demonstrate passion for great design and for expanding, evolving, defining, and documenting flexible design systems that achieve bar-raising quality and consistency for the brand at scale. They are user focused, have a strong understanding of the business, and are empathetic and inspiring team leaders. The ideal candidate excels across a variety of styles, crisply articulates design decisions, iterates quickly, and collaborates seamlessly with marketers, producers, leaders, other designers, and agency partners.
What you'll doStripe is building one of the world's most important companies, and the way we show up creatively in the world matters. As a Brand Advertising Designer, you'll sit at the center of that work, concepting and crafting campaigns that earn attention, build brand equity, and reflect Stripe's ambition. You'll work day-to-day within the Advertising team while staying in close partnership with the Stripe Identity team, making sure every campaign is rooted in who Stripe is and where the brand is going.
This is a role for someone who thinks in campaigns and executes with craft, equally comfortable generating a big idea and sweating the details of how it comes to life across every channel. This is a high-impact, high-ownership position where you will help define what advertising and campaigns can be and feel like, with craft and beauty.
Responsibilities- Concept, develop, and execute integrated campaigns across digital, film, print, OOH, and live activations, from early brief through final delivery
- Work closely with the Advertising team to build a strong, consistent creative pipeline that connects brand to business goals
- Partner with the Stripe Identity team to ensure campaign work is grounded in and advances Stripe's visual and verbal identity
- Translate briefs, user insights, and business objectives into campaign ideas that are both strategically sharp and creatively distinctive
- Present and champion ambitious creative work to stakeholders and senior leadership, building the case without diluting the idea
- Art direct external agencies, contractors, and collaborators, maintaining quality and brand alignment throughout
- Work closely with producer leads to drive program success, managing timelines, quality, and alignment across workstreams
- Contribute to raising the team's standards and culture of craft through the quality, clarity, and consistency of your own work
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements- 5+ years of design and art direction experience, ideally at technical or product-driven companies

- Strategic instincts for building ambitious, globally facing brands in fast-moving environments
- Strong instincts across film, digital, print, OOH, and activations, with a genuine pulse on culture and the ability to translate that into concepts that earn attention
- A proven ability to sell ambitious creative work: concepting ideas and presenting them in a way that earns buy-in from senior leadership without flattening them
- A strong partnership mindset, particularly with producer leads, to drive programs forward with quality, clarity, and momentum
- Confident stakeholder management skills: able to navigate ambiguity, align competing priorities, and bring people in on the creative
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and the latest AI workflows
- Exceptional craft and impeccable taste
- Genuinely curious, ambitious, and creative, with a sharp eye for typography, a deep appreciation for craft and the creative process, and a digitally native sensibility
- Persuasive and considered in presenting your work and process; skilled at facilitating stakeholder conversations without losing creative integrity
- Active experimentation with AI tools in the creative process, with an honest point of view on how they can shape the way work gets made
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization and presentation skills
- Experience in sports marketing, sponsorship activations, or brand-in-culture work, with a perspective on how brands earn credibility in spaces they don't own
- Created work that generated genuine cultural traction, beyond media spend alone
- Able to art direct at a high level and think through how a design system or campaign idea can evolve and deepen over time
- Experience in environments where product and brand both had to pull their weight, and where the product itself was central to the creative story
- A history of award-caliber work, and the perspective to know that awards aren't always the goal, but that they have a real place in raising ambition, sharpening craft, and setting a team's creative standard
