Job Summary:

  • This person will be responsible for social media marketing channels for the Direct Energy brand. They will effectively manage the strategy, planning, execution and reporting of social media organic and paid campaigns and work cross-functionally to develop campaigns that enhance brand awareness, engagement, and consideration.
  • This person will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Direct Energy's entire landscape of social media channels, which includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn and future platforms, supporting Direct Energy Texas and East region teams.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage Direct Energy's entire landscape of social media channels, which includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn and future platforms, supporting Direct Energy Texas and East region teams.
    • Ability to identify appropriate content and create content calendars for social platforms to align with business strategy.
    • Ability to provide input on social post copy and social post creative to ensure it drives social KPIs and goals.
    • Lead development and execution of social media campaigns, working closely with the social media agency to ensure collaboration and execution of impactful advertising that builds brand awareness and consideration, driving business goals.
    • Drive appropriate scoping conversations with key stakeholders to develop social media content that garner successful business goals from Direct Energy's social media channels.
    • Identify opportunities for social media, advertising and campaign improvements and engage in cross-functional initiatives to drive increased performance.
    • Develop and manage social media, advertising, and campaign project briefs/workplans and lead schedules for execution to achieve goals and quality objectives.
    • Monitor competitor developments and develop contingencies and make adjustments to social media campaigns, as needed.
    • Collect and analyze social media data to identify market trends and potentials, user biases and preferences, etc.
  • This person will work with the Brand Advertising Sr. Manager on projects managing the execution of advertising and marketing campaigns for Direct Energy while ensuring all projects meet expected deliverable deadlines. Should be strong in project management of creative marketing assets and should have experience with project management software Workfront.
  • This person will work with the SEO Manager to ensure SEO keywords and strategies are incorporated into social media strategy and execution.
  • Responsible for platform engagement and customer care communications including:
    • Like and engage with posts
    • Tag posts within Sprinklr
    • Respond to questions & comments.
    • Schedule proactive content
    • Report sentiment/topics, volume, impressions, engagement rate, content performance, etc. to leadership
    • Support during BCP events
    • Respond to all customer issues by 1) providing a chat link or 2) sending offline to customer service team to reach out to customer directly.
  • Responsible for data and performance reporting of all social media platforms, leveraging Sprinklr, Adobe and social media platforms to analyze key performance indicators to identify optimizations, pivots, insights, etc.
  • Ensure campaigns are tagged and tracked appropriately to measure and optimize campaign performance.
  • Act as brand ambassador for the organization and ensure consistent messaging and creative across channels and campaigns.
  • Assists in the communication of mass advertising activity to the broader organization, and keep stakeholders informed of media schedules, creative rotations, production schedules, etc.
  • Obtain requirements from internal clients on marketing initiatives, create project briefs, and brief the internal creative agency on the projects.
  • Manage timelines and milestones for individual projects to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Present assets for reviews to internal stakeholders, obtain feedback, and clearly communicate feedback to the internal creative agency.
  • Work with the internal creative agency to produce creative that is on strategy, on target and on brand by effectively kicking off the project, and constantly communicating with them about the status of the project and other relevant updates. Ensure all creative projects follow our internal creative process.
  • Manage risk, resolve issues and take corrective action as necessary on individual projects within campaign.
  • Identify research opportunities, key trends, key metrics, and processes that should or should not be repeated in future campaigns.
  • Be solutions-oriented, providing recommendations for ways to solve issues as they arise.
  • Create presentation and communication materials.
  • Lead special projects to address pressing business needs, as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid position. Weekly expectation 2-3 days in-office and 2-3 days remote.
  • Office Location: Houston, TX.
  • Travel 5%.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or digital marketing or social media
  • 5-7 years' experience in social media marketing, including organic and paid social media
  • Social media experience with creating content, copy and developing content strategies and campaigns, across Facebook, Instagram, Pintrest, Twitter/X, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Photoshop and Workfront, video editing software and photography skills, and the ability to learn other basic computer programs.
  • Experience understanding performance reporting, analyzing data, and optimizing performance; experience with Google Analytics, Sprinklr, META Ad Manager etc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop social media content including images, videos, etc.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented in all work, ability to multi-task, and solid project management skills
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Agency experience or work with creative/social media agency is a plus
