Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full functional integration of vacuum boosted, and electrical boosted, brake systems to meet vehicle functional objectives, and performance goals, as well as managing/validating to the system level Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), and Regulatory Requirements (NAFTA, Economic Commission of Europe (ECE), & GCC/GSO Compliance and Conformance of Production).
  • Conduct DV and Certification Tests, using Link Data Acquisition Systems to gather braking performance data Chelsea Proving Grounds (CPG).
  • Coordination and planning of testing at Chelsea Proving Grounds (CPG)/Arizona Proving Grounds (APG) to meet NA Program milestones;
  • Overview of test equipment set-up;
  • Conducting post-test data processing, and consequent analysis of given data to insure test accuracy;
  • Development of reports which recognize potential issues relative to compliance with Regulations and/or general braking performance
  • Issuance of documents to support submission of final Compliance Reports.
  • Responsible for the development of brake systems and coordinating vehicle ordering, builds, shipping, and testing.
  • Responsible to root cause quality/build issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree is required.
  • Knowledge of vehicle level system design and validation experience.
  • Knowledge of brake system, performance, and sizing modeling/analysis.
  • Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)/SFMEA and DVP-R experience such as: write/review/execute a system level DVP for a brake system.
  • Proven problem solving skillset (ie: Shainin, DFSS, Red X, etc.) and analytical skillset.
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Brake testing/development experience or Chassis development, valid driver's license
  • Experience in vehicle testing, preferably brake testing
  • Brake system modeling and system analysis experience
  • Design and release experience of brake components
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
