Box Making Lead

Description

As a Box Making Lead, you will oversee the team responsible for assembling boxes used in fresh fruit packing. You will ensure that all boxes meet quality and quantity standards while coordinating with supervisors to maintain smooth production flow. This role plays a critical part in keeping the packing lines running efficiently and organized.

· Lead and direct a team of box formers to ensure a timely and accurate assembly of boxes.

· Train new employees in box-forming procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.

· Inspect finished boxes to ensure they meet company and customer requirements.

· Monitor box inventory levels and notify supervisors of any shortages.

· Maintain organization and cleanliness in the box forming area.

· Ensure box making equipment is functioning properly and report malfunctions promptly.

· Rotate team members as needed to maintain productivity and reduce fatigue.

· Communicate effectively with packing leads, supervisors, and other departments.

· Enforce food safety and workplace safety policies among team members.

Requirements

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· At least 1-2 years of experience in a packing facility, preferably in box making or line support.

· Prior experience in leadership or lead position is strongly preferred.

Skills

· Strong communication and team coordination skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

· Capable of lifting and moving materials (up to 40 lbs).

· Knowledge of packing line operations and box forming procedures.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
