At Findex, we are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team in Smithton or Burnie in a permanent, full-time role! 
What will your typical week look like?

  • Assist in the preparation of business activity statements
  • Date entry into accounting software, reconciling client accounts, processing wages
  • Assisting clients with ad hoc bookkeeping queries
  • Ensure jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines, within budget
  • Assist with administration tasks including filing, maintaining client records and data entry
  • Support process improvement, efficiency and consistency by utilising standardised workflows to support automation, adhering to Group guidelines
  • Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with Findex compliance requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with various providers and statutory authorities (i.e. ASIC, ATO) on behalf of clients
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with existing clients and contacts

You are someone with…..

  • A bookkeeping background – but you’ll learn the ropes from our experienced team
  • Experience working with Xero, MYOB and other accounting programs would be an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft outlook, excel & word
  • Working towards your degree or Tafe Certificate - preferred but not necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Skills Required

  • Bookkeeping background
  • Experience with Xero and MYOB
