Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled BO Crystal Reports Developer to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive reports that advance our business intelligence capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects, Crystal Reports, and strong SQL knowledge. Your expertise will enable the translation of complex business requirements into effective, accurate, and optimized reporting solutions, contributing directly to data-driven decision making across the organization.
Software Requirements
Required:
SAP BusinessObjects Suite (including Crystal Reports) — Proven experience with version 12.x or higher
SQL, PL/SQL or other database query languages — Extensive experience in writing efficient queries
Data modeling and analysis tools — Practical understanding of data architecture and report optimization
Preferred:
SAP BW, SAP HANA, or other SAP modules integration experience
BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI
Scripting languages like JavaScript, VBA for report customization and automation
Overall Responsibilities
Understand and analyze reporting requirements provided by business units and stakeholders
Design, develop, test, and deploy crystal reports that meet specified business needs
Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather detailed reporting specifications and ensure alignment
Optimize report performance through query tuning and data analysis
Troubleshoot and resolve report issues effectively to maintain report reliability and data accuracy
Maintain documentation of report designs, system configurations, and operational processes
Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity in all reporting activities
Keep current with SAP BusinessObjects and Crystal Reports updates, features, and best practices
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Required: SQL, PL/SQL — strong proficiency in writing and optimizing queries
Preferred: JavaScript, VBA for report customization and automation
Databases/Data Management:
Deep understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles
BI Tools & Frameworks:
SAP BusinessObjects (Crystal Reports experience mandatory)
Familiarity with other BI tools like Tableau or Power BI (preferred)

Experience with report deployment, version control, and change management processes

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Crystal Reports Developer or in similar reporting roles

Exposure to SAP BW, SAP HANA, or other SAP modules is advantageous
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, or enterprise applications is preferred

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered
SAP BusinessObjects and Crystal Reports certifications are preferred
Continuing education in BI reporting tools and data management is encouraged
Awareness of industry standards for data privacy, security, and reporting best practices
