Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BMS / DCIM Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support the design, integration, and technical assurance of Building Management Systems (BMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), EPMS, EMS, SCADA, and related control systems for major data center and critical infrastructure projects. Working within an integrated client–PMC environment, you will ensure seamless system integration, operational resilience, and compliance with project requirements throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing- Review and validate BMS/DCIM system designs for data centers, micro data centers, and critical infrastructure facilities.
- Verify BMS/DCIM requirements for power, cooling, environmental monitoring, white space, plant rooms, UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and metering systems.
- Review control philosophies, points lists, control schematics, network architectures, graphics, dashboards, alarm matrices, trend logs, and cause-and-effect logic.
- Ensure integration between BMS/DCIM and associated systems, including EPMS, EMS, SCADA, fire alarm, security systems, NOC/SOC, CMMS, IFMS, and Digital Twin platforms.
- Review communication protocols and system interfaces including BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, OPC, MQTT, APIs, gateways, PLCs, controllers, sensors, and smart devices.
- Review shop drawings, technical specifications, material submittals, RFIs, design changes, method statements, and vendor proposals related to BMS/DCIM systems.
- Coordinate with MEP, ICT, ELV, cybersecurity, operations, consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical interface and integration issues.
- Support cybersecurity and operational resilience requirements, including network segmentation, secure access, logging, remote connectivity, and business continuity.
- Verify alarm strategies, dashboards, reporting tools, monitoring displays, escalation workflows, and operational thresholds.
- Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, asset registers, configuration files, testing records, operational runbooks, and training documentation during project handover.
- Prepare technical comments, issue logs, risk registers, progress reports, and management updates related to BMS/DCIM systems.
- Ensure solutions support safe, resilient, maintainable, and energy-efficient data center operations.
- Participate in technical workshops, design reviews, coordination meetings, and multidisciplinary project discussions.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, ICT, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7–10+ years of experience in BMS, DCIM, SCADA, Building Automation Systems (BAS), EPMS, EMS, ELV, or critical infrastructure engineering.
- Strong experience supporting data center, mission-critical, or smart infrastructure projects.
- Extensive knowledge of DCIM, BMS, EPMS, EMS, SCADA, and integrated monitoring and control systems.
- Strong understanding of power monitoring, cooling systems, environmental monitoring, alarms, dashboards, reporting, and operational visibility.
- Experience integrating third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, OPC, MQTT, APIs, gateways, PLCs, sensors, and controllers.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation including shop drawings, specifications, RFIs, and vendor submittals.
- Knowledge of integrated systems testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and system handover processes.
- Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for operational technology (OT) and building management networks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and client stakeholders.
