Blackstone Credit and Insurance Group (BXCI), Tokyo

Blackstone Credit & Insurance

Blackstone Credit & Insurance (“BXCI”) is one of the world’s leading credit investors. Our investments span the credit markets, including private investment grade, asset based lending, public investment grade and high yield, sustainable resources, infrastructure debt, collateralized loan obligations, direct lending and opportunistic credit. We seek to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for institutional and individual investors by offering companies capital needed to strengthen and grow their businesses. BXCI is also a leading provider of investment management services for insurers, helping those companies better deliver for policyholders through our world-class capabilities in investment grade private credit.

Job Title: Credit Investing – Principal

Job Description:

The position is for an experienced professional to focus on building out BXCI’s growing credit investing business in Japan. BXCI is a globally active investor across buyout financings, direct to corporate private high-grade financings, as well as public and private asset financing structures, including in asset classes such as residential mortgages, auto loans, equipment lending, personal lending, SME lending, fund financing and whole-business securitisations.

The successful applicant will collaborate with senior leadership in Asia and globally to design and execute BXCI’s growth strategy in the region, including originating new opportunities, managing existing investments and fundraising from new and existing clients. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, deal teams are typically small. A Senior Associate / Principal will therefore be expected to take leadership roles in the screening, analysing and structuring of investment opportunities and frequently lead client and internal meetings, negotiations, and due diligence sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and modelling credit opportunities across a wide variety of product types

  • Preparing presentations and memoranda to analyse investment opportunities, financial strategies, and business performance

  • Assisting in the onboarding and monitoring of investments

  • Facilitating the structuring and execution of funding and securitisations

  • Managing business risks through the execution of interest rate swaps and foreign currency forwards

  • Analysing and modelling new strategic initiatives and business development opportunities for BXCI’s business

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Strong academic track record

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills

  • Strong English communication skill

  • Prior buy side, investment banking, securitisation or other relevant experience of 8+ years with demonstrated acquisition and financing transaction experience
