What is this position about?

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join our accounting team at a dynamic professional services firm. The Billing Analyst will be responsible for managing the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, and providing support for revenue recognition. This role is key to ensuring client satisfaction, cash flow efficiency, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Job Description

• Billing Management: Prepare, review, and issue accurate invoices for services rendered, ensuring compliance with client contracts, billing rules, and company policies.
• Revenue Recognition: Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure correct revenue recognition practices are followed according to USGAAP.
• Contract Review: Work with the project management team to analyze contracts and ensure proper billing schedules, rates, and conditions are applied.
• Data Accuracy: Maintain billing records in accounting systems, ensuring all details are current and accurate. Resolve discrepancies and address any billing-related inquiries.
• Client Collections: Follow up on unpaid invoices, address client questions, and assist in the collections process to optimize cash flow.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and analyze billing reports, providing insights to the finance team and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in the billing process and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with client partners, sales teams, and clients to ensure all billing needs are met in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Advanced Accounting student / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency with billing software (e.g., NetSuite, OpenAir, or similar).
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles USGAAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with time-tracking and project management systems.
• Familiarity with intercompany transactions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisions

What about languages?

• Excellent written and verbal English for clear and effective communication is a must! 

How much experience must I have?

We're looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience in billing, preferably within the professional services sector.
