The Finance Manager leads the Finance function of the Group's Ivorian entity and holds overall responsibility for all financial management, accounting, treasury, budgeting, compliance, and internal-control activities for the operations in Côte d'Ivoire. They ensure the production of monthly and annual accounts under the SYSCOHADA framework, the proper completion of the annual statutory audit, and safeguard the entity's tax and social-security compliance. This is a hands-on, field-based role, working closely with the Financial Controller and CFO based in Perth as well as with the local operational teams. They also lead the rollout of a new accounting system / ERP and progressively build out the Finance function and team in support of the mining project's development.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Closings (SYSCOHADA)

  • Ensure the coding and booking of all of the Ivorian entity's invoices, guaranteeing correct allocation.
  • Prepare the monthly and annual accounts under the SYSCOHADA framework and ensure the proper completion of the annual statutory audit.
  • Drive the month-end processes, monthly reconciliations, and the maintenance and review of the general ledger.
  • Maintain the fixed-asset register and record intercompany loan agreements.

Treasury & Payments

  • Prepare the Ivorian entity's bank payments and approve the monthly payroll.
  • Manage the accounts-payable ledger and monitor the aged supplier-payables balance.
  • Ensure control of local cash and payments.

Tax, Social Security & Regulatory Compliance

  • File and settle payroll taxes and social-security contributions on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure tax compliance and the maintenance of exemptions (Mining Code / Investment Code); support the tax advisors with periodic filings and manage their submission.
  • Manage the registration of intercompany loan agreements (foreign parent company) and compile the files substantiating the use of the financing.
  • Ensure compliance with Ivorian legal and regulatory obligations (OHADA/SYSCOHADA, local-content requirements).

Reporting, Budget & Management Control

  • Support the CFO in preparing the budget, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Produce financial reporting for Group head office in Perth.

Information Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the rollout of the new accounting tool / ERP (e.g. Pronto or Classic ERP), in support of the Financial Controller.
  • Improve the entity's financial processes and procedures.

Management & Interfaces

  • Supervise the Accounting Assistant and progressively build out the Finance team in support of the project's development.
  • Serve as the interface with the Procurement & Logistics Manager, General Management, Operations / Exploration, Group head office (Perth), tax advisors, and external auditors.


Profil

Education

  • Higher degree in accounting / finance (Bac +4/5, i.e. a Master's-level qualification).
  • A qualification such as CPA, DEC/DSCG, or equivalent is an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience, ideally gained in an audit firm and then in industry. Experience in Côte d'Ivoire / West Africa is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the mining / exploration sector with reporting to an international group is required.

Technical Skills

  • Proven command of the SYSCOHADA accounting framework.
  • Strong experience of tax and social-security compliance in Côte d'Ivoire (exemptions, filings).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience rolling out an ERP / accounting system (an asset).
  • Skills in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Informations contractuelles

  • Residential position based in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire).
  • Regular travel to site (south-east of the country): approximately 2 days every 4 to 6 weeks; transport, accommodation, and meals covered by the company during site visits.
  • Site safety protocols apply during field visits.
