Job Description
What you Deliver
- Clinical Services - You provide individual and group counseling and psychoeducational services to children and families in compliance with professional licensing standards, agency standards, COA standards, ORR requirements, and HIPPA. Additionally, you participate in and execute abuse risk management responsibilities, as recommended by the aforementioned entities and Praesidium. You have direct client service delivery including, but not limited to, the following clinical duties: conducting assessments; documenting diagnostic impressions; developing and implementing treatment plans and interventions; assessing risk and safety needs; providing appropriate referrals as needed; reporting abuse and/or neglect, or suspicions of such safety concerns to the appropriate authorities. Also, you have responsibility for developing the content for psycho-educational group services to clients and the facilitation of these groups, independently or in conjunction with interns. You participate in on-call rotation for the facility, and routinely attends training opportunities as required by the program and professional license.
- Documentation - You complete required documentation of client progress within required timeframes; maintain client records in accordance with regulatory/agency standards. You complete data entry tasks associated with tracking measurable outcomes and performance management.
- Collaborations - You offer clinical impressions and recommendations during weekly staffing of cases with treatment team members. You contribute to the development of discharge plans for clients as they transition out of the St. Michael’s Home for Children. Also, you attend and participate in St. Michael’s Home for Children Program staff meetings, Counseling Program staff meetings, and Stakeholders meetings hosted by ORR. You attend and participate in weekly SMHC Counseling Team meetings and individual supervision appointments.
- Professional Development - You provide trainings and presentations on childhood development and other psycho-educational topics as required by ORR, State Licensing standards, or in promotion of agency/program initiatives.
- Other - You perform other duties as required such as participating in staff retreats, United Way tours, agency fairs and speaking engagements, assisting with special organizational projects/events, etc.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- You have a Master’s degree in mental health field, (Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy).
- You are licensed by the State of Texas (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPC-Intern or LMFT, LMFT Associate) and in good standing with the respective board.
The Skills and Assets You Bring, and More
- It is preferred that you have three to five years of experience providing direct clinical services, including psycho-social assessments, service planning, and regular therapy notes in English and Spanish.
- It is preferred that you are comfortable with and have experience serving individuals, families, children, and groups.
- It is preferred that you have experience with providing telemental health services.
- It is preferred that you have experience providing treatment that is trauma informed and sensitive to diverse populations.
- It is preferred that you are able to speak publicly, including being able to provide presentations and workshops to large audiences.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You are able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
- You are able to properly handle and maintain confidential information.
- You interact with peers, supervisors, and administrators in a respectful and professional manner.
- You are able to work well within a team and provide services with an integrated approach.
- You approach challenges with a solution-focused approach and maintains a positive attitude.
- You are able to gather, track, and report large quantities of data; must be well organized and timely.
- You have knowledge and experience with Word and Excel spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- It is preferred that you have experience with and are comfortable managing situations requiring crisis response and reporting.

Skills Required
