ABOUT MERCHANT GROWTH

Merchant Growth is one of Canada's fastest-growing fintech lenders, providing small and medium-sized businesses across the country with fast, flexible access to capital. We've been recognized among The Globe and Mail's Top Growing Companies and named a BC Finalist for Deloitte's Best Managed Companies. Our Sales team is the engine behind that growth, connecting Canadian business owners with financing solutions that help them move forward.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Bilingual Account Executive, you'll be Merchant Growth's dedicated point of contact for small business owners in Quebec, playing a foundational role in our expansion into the province. You will engage prospective merchants through inbound inquiries, outbound prospecting, and referrals while building your own pipeline and guiding merchants who have never been funded by Merchant Growth before, from first conversation through to funding.

This is a 100% net-new business role: there are no renewals and no existing book of business to inherit. You will be part of a close-knit, target-driven inside sales team, with daily coaching, structured onboarding, and a clear path for growth as our presence in Quebec grows.

This is not an entry-level sales role. We're looking for someone who has already proven they can win in a full-cycle,

quota-carrying environment, and who's ready to be rewarded for it with one of the strongest commission structures in the industry.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT

- Fluent French (spoken and written) is required. You will be the primary voice of Merchant Growth for French-speaking business owners across Quebec.

- Professional English proficiency is also required for internal collaboration, CRM documentation, and cross-team communication.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and manage your own pipeline of net-new prospects through outbound calling, inbound leads, and referral sources. This role has no responsibility for renewals or an existing book of business
  • Serve as Merchant Growth's primary point of contact for Quebec-based prospects, helping lay the groundwork for our expansion into the province
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and opportunity targets (calls, emails, and qualified opportunities created)
  • Qualify prospective merchants' financing needs and match them with the right product and funding structure
  • Coordinate, negotiate, and prepare funding applications and terms, guiding merchants through the process from first conversation to funding
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce and Salesloft
  • Handle objections with confidence and professionalism, maximizing every opportunity to close
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service at every touchpoint
  • Execute the day-to-day priorities and strategies set by your manager, and adhere to company policies on deal structure

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A demonstrated, verifiable track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle, target-driven sales role
  • 2+ years of outbound, phone-based sales experience, ideally in financial services, fintech, or another fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • A diploma or degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a consultative, confident approach to selling and handling objections
  • Comfortable spending the majority of the day on the phone
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the judgment to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and Salesloft (or similar)
  • Fluent French (spoken and written), required
  • Professional proficiency in English, required

NICE TO HAVE

  • History of top-performer recognition (e.g., President's Club, quota-attainment awards) in a previous sales role
  • Familiarity with the Quebec small business landscape or prior experience selling into the Quebec market
  • Experience in the fintech, alternative lending, or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of financial services market structures (lenders, aggregators, brokers, etc.)

WHAT WE OFFER

  • One of the strongest commission structures in the industry that is built to reward experienced closers for the results they already know they can deliver
  • A high-growth opportunity with a leading Canadian fintech company
  • A flexible work arrangement that is remote, with the option to work from our Vancouver (Gastown) office
  • Comprehensive group health benefits (Life, AD&D, Extended Health & Dental, and Travel Insurance)
  • Monthly company-wide Lunch & Learns and team events
  • A collaborative, supportive team culture invested in your growth

Skills Required

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle, target-driven sales role
  • 2+ years of outbound, phone-based sales experience
  • Diploma or degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a consultative sales approach
  • Comfortable spending the majority of the day on the phone
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce and Salesloft (or similar)
  • Fluent French (spoken and written)
  • Professional proficiency in English
  • History of top-performer recognition (e.g., President's Club, quota-attainment awards)
  • Familiarity with the Quebec small business landscape or prior experience selling into Quebec
  • Experience in fintech, alternative lending, or financial services industry
  • Knowledge of financial services market structures (lenders, aggregators, brokers, etc.)
