We are seeking a BI Developer cum Power BI Administrator responsible for end-to-end BI solution development, platform governance, and data validation. This role combines development, administration, and basic programming/testing capabilities to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality analytics solutions.
Responsibilities1. Power BI Development
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets
• Build data models (star schema, tabular models) and optimize performance
• Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs
• Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL, Snowflake, APIs, Azure, etc.)
• Translate business requirements into technical BI solutions
• Ensure data accuracy, performance tuning, and usability of reports
2. Data Engineering / Transformation
• Perform ETL/ELT using Power Query
• Cleanse, transform, and shape datasets for reporting
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on pipelines and sources
3. Power BI Administration
• Manage and maintain Power BI Service / Fabric environment
• Administer:
o Workspaces
o Access control (RLS, roles, security groups)
o Tenant settings and governance policies
o Premium/Fabric capacities
• Configure and monitor:
o Gateways
o Scheduled refreshes
• Ensure security, compliance, and platform reliability
4. Governance & Platform Management
• Define and enforce Power BI governance frameworks
• Manage dataset certification, lineage, and lifecycle
• Establish best practices for:
o Workspace organization
o Naming conventions
o Deployment pipelines
• Monitor usage, performance, and adoption metrics
5. QA, Testing & Data Validation
• Perform manual testing of Power BI reports and dashboards
o Data validation, reconciliation, KPI verification
• Support UAT cycles with business stakeholders
• Execute regression testing during report/dataset changes
• Document:
o Test cases
o Test plans
o Defect tracking
• (Good to have) Exposure to automated testing for data/BI:
o SQL-based data validation or testing frameworks
6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Support
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders
• Provide user support, troubleshooting, and training
• Drive self-service BI adoption
• Collaborate across business, data engineering, and IT teams
7. Migration & Advanced Use (Preferred)
• Support Power BI Premium → Fabric migrations
• Optimize capacity utilization and workloads
• Work with:
o Dataflows / Lakehouse / Warehouse
• Enable CI/CD deployment pipelines

Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in:
o Power BI Desktop & Service
o Data modeling & schema design
o DAX and Power Query (M)
• Good knowledge of:
o SQL and relational databases
o Data warehousing concepts
• Experience with:
o Power BI administration (tenant, gateway, capacity)
o Security (RLS, workspace access)
Programming Skills (Updated)
• Mandatory:
o Basic Python programming (beginner level)
Data manipulation (e.g., Pandas basics)
Simple scripting / automation
• Good to Have:
o Advanced Python usage for:
Data transformation / validation
Automation of BI workflows
Integration with APIs or cloud services
Professional Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
Experience
• 5+ years in BI / data analytics roles
• 3+ years hands-on Power BI development
• Experience with enterprise BI platforms
