The Bessemer Giving Fund Associate Advisor role is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team of dedicated professionals that service Bessemer’s ultra-high net worth clients to achieve philanthropic goals through the Bessemer Giving Fund (BGF), the sponsoring organization for Bessemer’s donor-advised funds (DAFs). Bessemer Giving Fund is a philanthropic trust that allows Bessemer clients to contribute, hold and invest assets along with recommending grants to charities. This position will report to the Director of the Bessemer Giving Fund and will be responsible for functions related to executing our philanthropic mission. Prior DAF or philanthropic experience is preferred but not required. The specific duties include:
ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION
- Reviewing grant recommendations out of Bessemer Giving Fund accounts and verifying charitable status.
- Constructing customized Excel spreadsheets to assist Bessemer Giving Fund account management and related projects.
- Filing correspondence and other documents in internal databases.
- Reviewing and processing Bessemer Giving Fund incoming mail.
- Maintaining confidentiality across all aspects of working in a multi-family office setting.
INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
- Proposing and implementing investment programs including trading DAF accounts.
- Proactively monitoring asset allocation in DAF accounts through cross-functional communication.
- Initiating and reviewing trade orders for rebalancing of DAF accounts.
- Reviewing daily reports and ensuring accuracy of account breakdowns.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL SERVICES
- Handling day-to-day communication with Client Advisor teams to advise on Bessemer Giving Fund inquiries and processes.
- Assisting with preparing materials for presentations using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other internal applications as needed.
- Presenting at numerous high-visibility internal meetings and trainings.
PHILANTHROPIC SERVICES
- Analyzing and researching charitable grant recipients.
- Assisting with tax and audit reporting preparations.
- Researching philanthropic and DAF trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- One or more years of related business experience preferred (Donor-Advised Fund, Wealth Management, Tax, Audit, and/or Philanthropy).
- Proven interest in financial markets and/or philanthropy preferred.
- Strong skills in the following areas: analytical & independent problem-solving; written and verbal communication; organizational and ability to manage multiple tasks; interpersonal and communicative abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork qualities.
- Successful candidate must be goal-oriented, detailed oriented and a motivated self-starter.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Salesforce. High proficiency in Excel is strongly preferred.
The base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
