The Bonadio Group is currently seeking a Benefits and Leave Specialist. The Benefits & Leave Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs and leave of absence processes. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits, disability, family and medical leave, and related programs. The Specialist ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while delivering a positive employee experience through accurate, timely, and confidential support. This position is based in our Rochester, New York office and requires in-person attendance
Responsibilities
Work with insurance, retirement plan providers, and vendors to ensure employee enrollments are accurate and benefits are delivered on time and as needed.
Maintain accurate employee benefits records and relevant documentation within the HRIS system.
Reconcile benefit invoices and coordinate payroll deductions with Payroll.
Respond to employees’ questions regarding benefits, coverage, and eligibility during enrollment.
Interpret and coordinate leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, etc.)
Maintain employee leave information in databases and perform other tasks to ensure accuracy of files related to employee leaves of absence.
Ensure effective and timely coordination and communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in reviewing data and compiling benefit offering information for Mergers and Acquisitions.
Serve as project lead or team member for various HR and interdepartmental projects. Example: ACA compliance and Wellness.
Administer Workers Compensation program including timely filing of claims, monitoring open claims, coordinating prompt return to work, and effectively communicating with employees, supervisors, medical providers, and the insurance adjuster.
Partner with Human Resources Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, General Counsel, and other teams as needed.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business administration, or a related field.
A minimum of two years of work experience in insurance, human resources, leave administration, or a related field.
The salary range for this position is between $70,000 to $80,000, and is commensurate with experience.
Hours of Operation:
Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday
We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
