Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, accounting or a related field. (Required)
Work Experience:
- 3 years experience in HR and employee benefits administration. (required)
- Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP (preferred)
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI (preferred)
- Essential Functions
- Administers daily benefit operations.
- Assists employees with overall knowledge and understanding of benefit offerings and benefit plan designs.
- Analyzes costs and trends in benefits programs in order to recommend changes.
- Analyzes costs and competitive trends in employee benefit programs as compared to the hospitals current position related to trends.
- Recommends changes and addition to the benefit program.
- Participates in and supports the review of benefit programs/costs and employee/employer cost sharing relationships.
- Participates in the development of benefit program policies and procedures.
- Oversees department projects to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Serves as administrator for annual department projects including but not limited to total compensation statements, discretionary contributions, and annual enrollment.
- Monitors the flow of data between systems to ensure data integrity.
- Performs data audits.
- Oversees data flow including interface files to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinates the preparation of various reports to ensure state and federal compliance.

- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.

- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current Knowledge in present areas of responsibility to include any specialty certification requirements (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
- For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, accounting, or a related field
- Three years of experience in HR and employee benefits administration
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification from IFEBP
- Professional in Human Resources certification from HRCI
