Job Summary: 

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administration, coordination, and communication of employee benefits programs for the UKB Federal Corporation and all its entities. This position serves as the primary liaison between employees, the Human Resources Department, payroll, and third-party benefits providers to ensure accurate enrollment, compliance, and high-quality employee service. 

The Benefits Administrator provides guidance to employees regarding eligibility, plan options, claims processes, and coverage details, while maintaining accurate benefits records and supporting organizational compliance. This role works under general supervision and handles moderately complex issues, referring advanced matters to the HR Director as needed. The position may also provide cross-training support to payroll functions as assigned. 

Qualifications

Job Duties: 

 

Benefits Administration 

  • Administer all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefits. 

  • Conduct new hire orientation and benefits enrollment meetings. 

  • Educate employees on eligibility, plan provisions, costs, and coverage options. 

  • Assist employees with enrollment changes due to qualifying life events. 

  • Coordinate annual open enrollment processes. 

  • Serve as primary liaison between UKB and third-party benefits providers. 

  • Assist employees with claims issues and escalates complex matters as appropriate. 

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and tribal regulations related to benefits administration (e.g., ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA where applicable). 

  • Support potential implementation of tribal or federal program opportunities such as 340B or other healthcare-related benefit initiatives, as directed. 

Records & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate benefits records, enrollment documentation, and contribution tracking. 

  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices with payroll deductions. 

  • Prepare reports related to benefits participation, utilization, and costs. 

  • Assist with audits and compliance reporting requirements. 

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of employee benefits information. 

 

Communication & Employee Support 

  • Develop and distribute benefits communication materials, memos, and presentations. 

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding coverage, eligibility, and claims. 

  • Provide one-on-one guidance to employees navigating complex benefit situations. 

  • Support HR Director in evaluating benefit offerings and vendor performance. 

 

Collaboration & Cross Training 

  • Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and reporting. 

  • Serve as backup Payroll Processor in emergency situations (if assigned). 

  • May provide leadership or mentoring to HR support staff as needed. 

  • Assist HR Director in benefits process improvement initiatives within the HR department. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or related field. 

  • Solid working knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable regulations. 

  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems, preference for Paycom experience.  

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 

  • Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required. 

 

Skills Required

  • Two to four years of experience in benefits administration, HR, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable regulations
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Paycom experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
