About the role:
We are seeking a commercially astute Business Development Advisor to join our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team in London. You will help drive growth for our M&A service line by supporting strategic business development (BD) initiatives and collaborating closely with our global network. This is a varied, strategic, and hands-on role where you will work with lawyers and BD colleagues, and experience significant opportunities for professional development within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of the M&A BD plan and support firm-wide BD strategies.
- Collaborate with global BD teams to ensure alignment and connectivity across the network.
- Help build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and sector teams.
- Contribute to M&A-led go-to-market campaigns, pitch materials, and panel submissions.
- Use data-led intelligence to spot market opportunities, support horizon scanning, and manage the opportunity pipeline.
- Conduct market analysis to inform BD initiatives and targeting.
- Support the use of marketing technology and data infrastructure for proactive insights.
- Facilitate cross-selling and client development opportunities within global product teams.
- Ensure compliance and alignment with global processes and shared services.
Your Experience:
- Experience in business development within M&A, ideally in legal or professional services.
- Knowledge of M&A products, market trends, and BD strategy.
- Success collaborating across teams and contributing to pitches and proposals.
- Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify growth opportunities.
- Understanding of cross-selling strategies and global service models.
- Experience using marketing technology and data tools for insight generation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
