Job Title: BAS Operator
Department: Engineering (Building Controls & Automation - BCA)
Reports To: BCA Manager
Location: San Jose Campus
Schedule: Tues-Sat (3:00pm to 11:30pm)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and responsive BAS Operator to join our BCA team. This role serves as the single point of contact for monitoring and coordinating all facility systems for our San Jose Campus. The BAS Operator plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and communication across departments, engineering, vendors, and management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring building systems, responding to alarms and escalations, coordinating vendor work, and supporting engineering dispatch. The BCA Team operates in a 24/7, 365-day environment and requires individuals who are detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced critical environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct detailed shift pass-downs and maintain digital shift logs
Perform daily electronic rounds using WebCTRL system
Monitor Building Controls & Automation systems for the San Jose Campus
Respond to alarms, emergency notifications, work orders, and escalations
Dispatch engineering for P1/P2 or escalation work orders
Monitor network and critical systems and respond appropriately
Create and manage cases for WebCTRL findings and failures
Handle BCA phones and radio communication effectively
Coordinate fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and other critical events
Manage and coordinate vendor check-ins/check-outs
Verify dashboard schedule, Change Requests (CRs), and CWAs
Send notifications if work falls under event classification
Assist with sub-work orders and coordinate with Facility Managers
Ensure accurate and timely updates of all BCA logs and communications
Double-check Fire Impairment (FSI) schedules and compliance
Complete all required training (MyLearning)
Acknowledge and respond to alarms in WebCtrl
Verify, create, or update work orders in Corrigo as needed
Review and respond to outstanding escalation emails and cases
Verify vendor documentation (CWA, CR) and send notifications
Conduct daily critical engineering rounds and log issues
Maintain up-to-date shift logs, including equipment details and mailer notifications
Communicate clearly and consistently in Webex chat and SMS for pass-downs
Ensure all operational processes follow Critical Environment Practices
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
1–2 years of experience in facilities operations, dispatch, or building automation systems
Familiarity with Corrigo, WebCtrl, or other building management systems (BMS)
Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to prioritize and respond to multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow critical environment protocols
Experience in critical facility operations (data center, hospital, etc.)
Knowledge of fire life safety, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
Understanding of vendor coordination and change request workflows
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Web-based tools, and radio communication protocols
Salary Range: $58,600 - $71,800 per year
Estimated compensation for this position:
56,000.00 – 71,800.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
