Bar Lead

Position Summary
Our Bar Managers mission is to enhance and streamline dining room bar operations and overall customer experience. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the bar operations are implemented, managed, and organized in an efficient manner under the guidance of the General Manager.
Bar Manager Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations in the bar including weekly inventory, food and supply ordering, and scheduling.
- Provides direction to the bar staff, ensuring execution of all employee duties.
- Monitors bar operations to ensure compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol and state, federal, and local regulations.
- Assists in the implementation and management of the bar and restaurant policies and procedures throughout scheduled shift.
- Completes the duties of a bartender when needed and is capable of performing the duties of all FOH positions.
- Ensures products are stored properly and at the correct temperature and the recipe books are up to date with current drink recipes, portions, and ingredients.
- Ensures utilization of daily prep sheets and that product counts are recorded accurately daily.
- Anticipates, identifies, and corrects any issues with inventory, systems, and staffing.
- Monitors labor costs to attain budgeted goals within restaurant policies and procedures.
- Oversees and approves training and development of the bar staff.
- Participates in the hiring and training process. Conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations. Involved in all FOH training
- Assists in completion of all Front-of-house employee POCs, one on ones, and annual reviews.
- Manages and follows up on daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
- Manages and maintains bar equipment and facilities.
- Ensures the bar is well-stocked and clean.
- Tracks customer behavior and sales.
- Appropriately delegates tasks to staff.
- Oversees staff, including bartenders, barbacks, and runners.
- Hires, trains, promotes, and when necessary, uses progressive discipline.
- Initiates and maintains vendor relationships.
- Uses point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree or higher in hotel and restaurant management a plus.
- 2+ years of Bar management experience.
- 5+ years of restaurant manager experience.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platforms.
- Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law.
- Comfortable using a computer, navigating standard office and point-of-sale software.
