GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Bagasse Equipment Operator is part of the site operations team on shift and is responsible for safely operating the mobile plant to carry out the transportation and stockpiling of bagasse. The Bagasse Equipment Operator is responsible to the safe operation of heavy equipment to move bagasse between conveyors and storage area ensuring conveyers are always full of bagasse for proper operation of the boilers which will prevent blackouts throughout the facility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operating the pay loader and other relevant equipment to carry out the transportation and stockpiling of bagasse.
• During times of high crush rates, surplus bagasse is produced and needs to be managed, this involves transporting surplus bagasse to the site stockpiles and profiling the stockpile with the loader to the site standard.
• When fiber production is low, the Loader Operator will be required to help with general Boiler Room cleaning and supporting Boiler Room staff with general duties.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.

• Bilingual and Biliterate – English and Spanish, preferred.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma, GED (or equivalent experience), one (1) year experience operating heavy equipment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regular attendance is required during your scheduled shift.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather.
• Must be able to work in all positions (overhead, kneeling, reaching, crawling & working in small workspaces) & be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
