Job Purpose
As a Backend Software Engineer specializing in Go (Golang), you will design, build, test, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs to meet user needs and technical requirements. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure seamless integration with front-end applications and alignment with project goals. You will stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices to optimize system performance, scalability, and security. Your contributions will include participating in task planning and execution to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Independently create, test, and maintain software applications and systems based on user requirements and technical specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to align project goals and requirements.
- Stay updated with new technologies, methodologies, and programming tools, and apply them to improve software performance and user experience.
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks to ensure software development projects are delivered on time.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably with Go; strong experience with other systems/backend programming languages such as Rust, Zig, or C++ is also welcome.
- Comfortable using AI/LLMs to accelerate development, with the judgment to critically review, validate, prototype and adapt generated code (not apply it blindly).
- Ability to spot code smells, edge cases, architectural inconsistencies and performance bottlenecks, and propose pragmatic improvements.
- Knowledge of SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
