About the Role

As a Backend Engineer at Aizen, you’ll be at the core of building and optimizing the infrastructure that powers our end-to-end AI platform. You’ll develop scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines that enable seamless AI deployment and real-time inference. Whether you’re an entry-level engineer eager to grow or a senior engineer ready to architect high-performance distributed systems, this role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI infrastructure, drive backend optimizations, and contribute to the future of enterprise AI.

Core Responsibilities

• Backend & API Development – Design and optimize scalable backend services and high-performance APIs to support real-time AI applications, model inference, and data orchestration.

• Data Processing & Infrastructure – Build and optimize large-scale data pipelines, ETL processes, and storage solutions, ensuring seamless integration between AI workflows and backend systems.

• System Performance & Reliability – Implement monitoring, logging, and incident response workflows, ensuring high availability, low latency, and backend scalability.

• Security & Compliance – Enforce authentication, authorization, and encryption standards, ensuring secure API development and compliance with enterprise security best practices.

• Cloud & DevOps Integration – Deploy and manage backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure, automate infrastructure with Terraform, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with ML, data, and product teams to align backend infrastructure with business goals, influence product roadmaps, and advocate for backend best practices.

Preferred Qualifications (Applicable to All Levels)

• Proficiency in Backend Development – Strong coding skills in Python and Java

• Cloud & Infrastructure Experience – Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.

• Database & Data Management – Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)

• Security & Authentication – Understanding of best practices and compliance standards for enterprise applications.

• Strong Problem-Solving & Collaboration Skills – Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, solve complex technical challenges, and collaborate with ML, data, and product teams.

Entry-Level Qualifications

• 1+ Year(s) of Backend Development Experience – Hands-on experience developing APIs, working with cloud environments, or contributing to backend systems in an academic, internship, or professional setting.

• Eagerness to Learn & Experiment – Comfortable working in a high-growth startup environment, iterating quickly, and exploring new backend architectures and technologies.

Senior-Level Qualifications

• 4+ Years of Experience in Backend Engineering – Proven experience building scalable, high-performance backend systems, optimizing for latency, reliability, and security.

• Experience with Large-Scale Systems – Background in distributed computing, event-driven architectures, and real-time data processing.

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship – Ability to lead backend architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices for scalable backend development.
