Backend Software Engineer, Cloudkitchens - Infrastructure

At City Storage Systems, we're building Infrastructure for Better Food. We help restaurateurs around the world succeed in online food delivery. Our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality and convenient for everyone. We're changing the game for restaurateurs, whether they’re entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant all the way through to your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.

What you’ll do

• Work on the data intelligence infrastructure team, which is focused on gaining intelligence from the massive amounts of data that has been collected over the years serving restaurants across the world. 
• Build and maintain software and tools that enable data scientists, ML engineers, analysts and engineers to extract insights, sell market intelligence to merchants and make data driven decisions for the company
• Help product teams to build real-time and batch processing pipelines to achieve business requirements
• Research latest technologies in the open source communities and bring back insights to apply within the team

What we’re looking for

• Backend engineers with an infrastructure background who have an interest in ML adjacent work (helping data scientists do their work more efficiently with great tooling)
• Machine Learning specialists who want to broaden their skillset and delve more into the infrastructure and data processing domains, utilizing batch and stream processing on a daily basis.

This role is based in our Austin office location. We believe that people do their best work when they are together. As a company, we’re in the marketplace of ideas and innovation. When you’re constantly innovating, changing how an industry works, inventing new products and processes - and we are doing all these things - we believe we’re better as a team in-person. That’s why all of our teams (except for our field-based roles) are now working from one of our office locations 5 days a week.
