Your Role at AxualAs a Backend (Full-Stack) Software Engineer, you’ll:
✅ Design and build features that make our solutions scalable, secure, and easy to use
✅ Work with modern open-source tools, from Java to Kafka and Docker
✅ Contribute to a wide range of real projects: Kafka-related projects, Helm charts, and our Terraform provider.
✅ Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that powers real-time data platforms
✅ Collaborate in a cross-functional, agile team where ideas matter and ownership is key
✅ Support our customers and share your knowledge with colleagues and the wider tech community
🔹 3+ years experience with Java in a professional environment (preferably enterprise)
🔹 Deep understanding of microservices architecture and containerization
🔹 Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
🔹 Familiarity with Git, Maven, and CI/CD practices
🔹 A strong product mindset- proud of what you build and care about the “why” behind it
⭐ Experience with Apache Kafka or other streaming/messaging systems
⭐ Experience with Kafka Connect we build and maintain Connect plugins
⭐ Working knowledge of Helm Charts
⭐ Effective use of AI coding tools like Claude Code

Skills Required
