About the Role
We’re seeking an Engineering Manager to support our Engineering team. This role will guide technical execution, contribute to our collaborative culture, and ensure high-quality solutions that support our product vision. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll work closely with our external partners to align goals, drive engagement, and foster a spirit of continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone who can empower our remote team to build a simple, scalable architecture while encouraging agile practices and personal growth. This role reports to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Growth: Coach, mentor, and support a high-performing engineering team, fostering an environment where everyone feels empowered to grow and contribute.
- Technical Guidance & Architecture: Oversee technology migrations and guide architectural direction, emphasizing simplicity, scalability, and alignment with long-term goals.
- Collaboration & External Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear and open communication about technical progress and outcomes.
- Driving Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Create a culture of engagement, agility, and continuous learning, helping team members adopt best practices that enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, coordinating effectively to deliver timely high-quality solutions.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Promote best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation; lead by example in code reviews and process optimization.
- Inspiring Remote Teams: Support a distributed engineering team by promoting a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and shared goals, while keeping the focus on simple, sustainable architecture.
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years as a software engineer or equivalent role
- 5+ years of experience managing people
- Proven experience in supporting, coaching, and empowering engineering teams, with a focus on inclusive practices that foster belonging and respect
- Project management skills, balancing multiple projects and team goals with an inclusive, team-oriented approach
- Skilled in communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders, translating technical updates into accessible, clear information
- Commitment to fostering engagement, continuous improvement, and agility within the team
- Ability to think strategically, recognize challenges early, and co-create effective solutions with the team
Nice-to-Haves
- Proficiency in Typescript, Node, Python, Scala/JVM, Postgres, and AWS
- Experience in an ISO-27001 or SOC2-compliant environment

Compensation and Pay Transparency
At Citrine, we want your path to career growth to be transparent, straightforward, fair, and easily accessible -- starting with your application and interview process. The annual salary range(s) listed below reflect the level(s) we are considering for this position (please note that there may be unique situations where you may fall outside of this range). Where you fall within the range(s) will depend on how your experience and skills align to our internal leveling system as we learn more about you throughout the interview process.
$185,000 USD - $210,000 USD
