ABOUT THE PROJECT/ROLE:

OAG is looking for experienced Software Engineers to join an engineering-led team building scalable, cloud-native backend systems that power data-driven products for the global travel industry.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative, multi-skilled team, designing and operating production-grade services in Azure that ingest, process, and deliver large volumes of aviation data via APIs, data platforms, and event-driven systems. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and influence over architecture, engineering standards, and long-term system quality.

YOU WILL:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using cloud-native and serverless patterns
  • Build and operate event-driven and message-based systems to handle high-throughput data flows
  • Develop containerised services and Azure Functions
  • Work with data platforms using SQL, supporting ingestion, transformation, and delivery use cases
  • Own services in production, including deployment, monitoring, observability, and reliability
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and help shape technical direction and best practices
  • Identify and address technical debt, performance issues, and operational risks
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers, sharing knowledge and raising engineering standards

ESSENTIAL:

  • Several years’ experience building and operating production backend systems
  • Strong experience with C# / .NET (Python experience also welcome)
  • Solid SQL skills and experience working with relational or analytical databases
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, others welcome)
  • Experience designing or working with distributed or event-driven systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
  • Strong understanding of clean code, testing, and software engineering best practices
  • Comfortable working in Agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
  • Fluent in English

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or modern data platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Interest in data-intensive or analytics-driven products

WE WILL OFFER YOU:
•    A dynamic work environment at OAG, fostering innovation in a progressive, non-hierarchical culture, where passionate tech enthusiasts continuously develop new products and solutions with a focus on improvement for the aviation industry
•    Company-provided free lunch every day
•    A modern office in a convenient location, with flexible working arrangements that allow remote work or office attendance
•    Work remotely from anywhere in the world for 1 month each year.
•    An attractive compensation and benefits package, including private health insurance, a company bonus scheme, and voluntary participation in a company-supported retirement scheme
•    A generous annual leave policy, growing with each year of service, and a day off during your birthday month
•    Participation in team-building activities, team workshops, and group learning sessions.

We will ensure that the exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary starts from 3250 EUR gross per month).

OAG is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We ensure all applicants are considered for employment without discrimination.
