Backend Engineer - Python

Job Overview:

InVitro Capital is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Cloud Solutions, AI, Python, and Backend Solution Design to lead our engineering team. You will play a pivotal part in developing cutting-edge software solutions, leveraging cloud technologies, and implementing AI best practices. Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Pacific Time Zone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development for GenAI: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that support generative AI products and services.
• API Design & Integration: Develop and optimize APIs that connect machine learning models with frontend interfaces and external systems.
• System Reliability & Security: Ensure backend systems are robust, secure, and capable of handling production-grade workloads.
• Frontend Collaboration: Work closely with frontend teams to support seamless integration and efficient data flows across the stack.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to track system performance and resolve issues quickly.
• AI Inference Optimization: Design caching strategies and performance enhancements to support fast, reliable AI model inference.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 2-5 years in AI solution engineering with a strong focus on process automation and client-facing collaboration.
• Backend Programming Expertise: Proficiency in Python for building production-ready backend services.
• Python Web Frameworks: Experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI for rapid backend development.
• Database Proficiency: Skilled in working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• API & Architecture Knowledge: Strong grasp of RESTful API design, service-oriented architecture, and backend best practices.
• Containerization & Deployment: Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment workflows.
• Auth & Security: Understanding of authentication and authorization methods such as OAuth and JWT.
• Cloud & DevOps: Experience deploying to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• MLOps & Model Management (Would be a Plus): Experience with model versioning, feature stores, deployment workflows, and real-time model monitoring in production.
• LLM Workflow Knowledge (Would be a Plus): Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques, fine-tuning pipelines, and integrating large language models into applications.
• Streaming & Event Systems (Would be a Plus): Exposure to streaming platforms like Kafka or Kinesis, and understanding of event-driven architecture design patterns.
