What you will be doing:
As a Backend Engineer at avi, you'll be at the heart of our international engineering efforts, joining our core product team. You'll collaborate with other pragmatic technologists to design, implement, and deliver delightful and innovative treatment experiences.. Your work will help visualize medical treatment processes and ensure an accurate digital backed therapy process, impacting thousands of patients daily.

In this role, you'll build solutions used by many patients and doctors, supporting unique needs with customizable and extensible features. You'll develop functional APIs on top of our electronic health record to power these experiences, understanding the capabilities and limitations of existing systems to choose pragmatically between extending them or building new services. You'll collaborate with talented engineers, designers, product managers, and data scientists to ship delightful experiences, always building with scale and reliability in mind. Maintaining high standards in sustainable engineering, you'll follow best practices and produce top-quality code, documentation, testing, and monitoring.

Our Software & Tool-Stack: Flutter (Dart), Django (Python), Java EE, ReactJS, Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch and many more. 

What success looks like:

After 3 months, you'll have immersed yourself in our company culture, understood our technical needs, and established strong relationships with key stakeholders. You'll begin leading subprojects and contributing to the overall architecture of our platform.

After 6 months, you'll have a solid grasp of the healthcare sector and our platform's intricacies. You'll start exploring how to improve our treatment processes using AI, leading several subprojects that showcase your ability to drive innovation and efficiency. Your contributions will start to show improvements in our platform's performance and reliability.

After 12 months, you'll be fully adapted to our dynamic environment and recognized as a critical strategic partner. You'll have made significant strides in optimizing our platform's architecture, with a track record of successful projects and improvements that align with our long-term objectives. Additionally, you'll be investigating the potential of quantum computing to further enhance our treatment processes.

Core skills & qualifications to help you succeed in this role are:

• Solid knowledge of at least one OOP programming language, preferably Python
• 1+ yr experience building full-stack experiences from the API layer to mobile apps.
• Expertise in open-source technologies, modern web standards and best practices
• Deep curiosity to learn new technologies, explore new ideas, and passion to implement them.
• Applied knowledge of software engineering and best practices such as testing, documentation and code reviews. 
• Commitment to quality, performance, and efficiency. 
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write detailed technical documents. .
• Proficient in German & English
