Dayra is looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join our engineering team and help build the systems that power the future of access to finance.
You’ll work closely with our engineering and product teams to support the development of reliable, scalable backend services used by real customers and internal teams. This is a hands-on opportunity for a final-year student or fresh graduate who’s excited to learn, build, and grow in a fast-paced startup environment, with potential for a full-time role for high performers.
Key Responsibilities
Help develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and internal systems.
Work with databases, server-side logic, and integrations.
Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to build and improve product features.
Support in testing, debugging, and improving backend performance and reliability.
Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
Learn and apply backend development best practices in a real startup environment.
Help document technical processes and system flows where needed.
Who We’re Looking For
Final-year student or fresh graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Basic experience with backend development.
Familiarity with at least one backend language or framework such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or similar.
Basic understanding of REST APIs, databases, and Git.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Interest in fintech, startups, and building scalable products.
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work in a team.
Internship Details
Duration: 2–3 months
Start Date: July 1st
Type: Paid internship with a path to hire for high performers
