Backend Engineer - Data Platform

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our strong Data Platform team.

In this role, You'll be building and supporting scalable backend services that enable data ingestion, processing, and delivery for analysts, data scientists, and ML models in production environments. The team's main responsibility is developing and maintaining Voyantis data platform that powers critical business insights and machine learning applications. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain serverless backend services and RESTful APIs that support our data platform operations
• Build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes using modern cloud technologies
• Implement robust testing strategies and maintain high code quality standards through CI/CD practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, analysts and developers) to understand requirements and deliver solutions
• Own projects from conception to production, including system design, implementation, and maintenance
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring reliability and scalability

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development
• Strong experience with Cloud services, AWS/GCP/Azure
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and CRUD services
• Solid understanding of system design principles and microservices architecture
• Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD practices
• Strong testing practices including unit testing, integration testing, and test automation
• Basic understanding of data engineering concepts and willingness to learn data platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

The following will be considered a plus:

• hands-on with Python and SQL
• Experience with data warehousing solutions, particularly Snowflake
• Familiarity with DBT or similar data transformation tools
• Experience with data ingestion and processing at scale
• Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration
• Previous work with data platforms or data-intensive applications
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Pulumi
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools
