As a Backend Developer, you'll play a key role in our innovative team dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for our global customers.

From powering platforms like NBCUniversal’s Peacock in the United States to Sky’s NOW, and SkyShowtime across Europe, and now Showmax in over 40 countries in Africa, one thing’s for certain, your contributions will impact millions of viewers worldwide.

What You'll Do:

• Participate in driving the future of OTT & Streaming Platforms delivering the best experience for our customers

• Develop excellent quality software using agile techniques

• Design clean and reliable code

• Deliver highly scalable and highly reliable products (yes, our customers expect 99.999% availability)

• Collaborate with other developers, architects and principal engineers, sharing and receiving knowledge

• Promote best technology and software development practices into the team with passion and enthusiasm

• Contribute to the whole development cycle, analysis, implementation, testing and operation

• Operation excellence and support are part of the development teams’ responsibility

What You'll Bring:

• Flexible approach towards different technologies

• Experience developing with Microservices Architecture

• Development in languages such as Java, Kotlin, NodeJS, C# or others

• API development, self-hosted or Application Server based

• Containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes

• Relational and NoSQL databases

• Continuous Integration/Deployment tools and processes

• Desire to innovate and investigate new technologies: Go, Scala, among others

• Ability to work well in a team, self-driven and eager to learn

• Creative thinking, analytical skills, with attention to detail

• Fluent in English
