About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Backend Developer with Golang expertise to join our team working on esportal.com, a competitive gaming platform for Counter-Strike 2, designed to provide a clean, cheat-free, and fair experience for players.
Esportal is now proudly part of PGL Esports, one of the most respected brands in the global esports industry.
You will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our high-traffic platform. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a product that directly impacts competitive gaming communities across Europe and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain microservices using Golang
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs that serve thousands of concurrent users
- Ensure backend components are highly performant and scalable
- Optimize and manage SQL-based databases
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers and DevOps teams to deliver seamless features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a focus on quality and reliability
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and performance analysis
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a backend developer
- Strong hands-on experience with Golang in production environments
- Solid understanding and experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Proven experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Familiarity with microservice architectures
- Experience using version control tools like Git
- Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum team environment
- Strong communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with ReactJS or willingness to collaborate with frontend development
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization/orchestration technologies
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
