That’s why we’re strengthening our team and looking for an experienced Lead of Back End Development team, who will build a reliable and scalable infrastructure for the entire region.
Your RoleYou will be a technical leader and manage the operational efficiency of the backend development team: from designing server-side architecture to implementing new technologies and improving system performance.
Your area of responsibility includes product backend quality, team efficiency, and improving development processes and metrics.
Responsibilities:- Lead the backend development team (planning, oversight, development);
- Develop and implement strategies for building high-quality server-side solutions;
- Design and optimize backend architecture, define technical standards, and ensure compliance;
- Set up and improve internal team processes, implement best engineering practices (code reviews, TDD, mob/pair programming, test automation);
- Train, onboard, develop, and motivate the team; build a talent pipeline; conduct performance reviews;
- Organize regular meetings (planning, retrospectives, 1:1s); generate ideas to improve processes and backend quality;
- Introduce automation tools and scalable processes, manage technical debt;
- Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and other technical teams; manage stakeholder expectations;
- Create and maintain technical documentation: policies, instructions, standards;
- Build a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing;
- Analyze team and system performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks;
- Participate in planning and implementing major technical initiatives affecting backend architecture;
- Mentor, support, and promote the professional growth of engineers;
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and developing new team members;
- Ensure data, product, and infrastructure security.
- Has 3+ years of experience as a team lead;
- Has managed teams of 5+ people, delegates effectively, and develops team maturity;
- Has expertise in backend development and server-side architecture;
- Knows best practices in server-side application development and can implement them;
- Experienced with databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching systems, and message queues;
- Skilled in driving change, managing team growth, and building a talent pipeline;
- Independent, proactive, result-oriented, and able to work in uncertainty;
- Capable of inspiring, teaching, and developing people, conducting performance reviews, and creating development plans;
- Understands microservices architecture, API design, and integration solutions;
- Proficient with monitoring, logging, and profiling tools; can identify and fix performance bottlenecks;
- Keeps up with backend development trends and implements best practices and new technologies;
- Able to facilitate technical discussions, make decisions, and argue their position effectively;
- Experienced in setting up and optimizing CI/CD processes, testing, and deploying backend applications;
- Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization;
- Understands server system security principles and data protection.
