The Role
The Back End Developer will enhance web capabilities for the Air Force by developing microservices using Java and Spring Boot on Azure. Responsibilities include building, testing, and deploying cloud-based applications that share critical maintenance data through APIs, with an emphasis on backend and integration development, while potentially expanding to full-stack development in the future.
Summary Generated by Built In

540 is looking for a Software Engineer to help the Air Force improve integration and web-based capabilities for aircraft maintainers and support personnel for various weapons systems that have direct impacts on the warfighter.  We are looking to bring a modern, cloud-based (Azure) and API-first (Apigee) architecture to improve data transformation and reliability, by developing microservices (Java / Spring Boot) that orchestrate, expose, and deliver critical data to various Air Force Enterprise data systems.

On this project, you will be supporting the development, testing, and deployment of microservices that facilitate the sharing of maintenance data, financial data, and other data sets across the Air Force.  You will mostly be delivering new / green field development using modern development technologies and cloud services.  Though mostly backend/API/integration development is expected for the foreseeable future, an ability and eagerness to develop full-stack is desired (as future components are expected to include front-end capabilities).

Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with DoD Top Secret level clearance eligibility
