As a back-end engineer at WECO, you’ll report to the CTO. You’ll be joining a small, focused team that loves to solve user problems and write code. If you love long, drawn out status meetings and enjoy spending hours doing paperwork, this is not the place for you. If you live to make people's lives better writing cool code, let's talk. - Design, implement and manage backend processes using Python and Django
- Collaborate with members of a creative team
- Maintain well-documented, reusable, and transferrable code
- Troubleshoot and resolve website problems for co-workers
- Stay abreast of new developments in software, trends, and practices
- This position requires an associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer programming, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Python (3+ years)
- Experience with Django, Flask or similar web application framework
- Familiarity with Javascript or Typescript
- Familiarity with Angular, ReactJS, Vue.js or other frameworks a plus
- Some HTML5 / CSS expertise
- Knowledge of functional or object-oriented programming.
- Ability to write well-documented, clean code.
- Experience with Unit test frameworks and automated testing
- Proficiency in additional programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Objective C, C#, C, C++, etc.)
- Experience with AWS, Heroku, CI / CD tools
WECO is headquartered in the Boston area. This is a mostly remote position with in-office meetings a few times per week.
