Job Overview
A Bachelor's Level Intern at Acenda Integrated Health's Family Success Center supports community engagement initiatives by assisting with outreach, marketing, and event planning to promote programs and services. This role provides hands-on experience in community-based services while helping connect individuals and families with valuable resources through education, advocacy, and relationship-building.
As an integrated health organization Acenda values the use of evidence-based practice or EBP's.
Program Info
Acenda’s Family Success Centers (FSC) are warm, welcoming neighborhood gathering spaces where families and community members come together for support, connection, and growth. FSC’s offer interactive workshops, family-friendly activities, and groups, as well as volunteer opportunities. All services are free and open to all. Additionally, the FSC’s offer free computer use, printing, and copying services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with community outreach efforts to increase awareness of Family Success Center programs and services.
- Represent the Family Success Center at tabling events, health fairs, and community outreach activities by engaging with community members and distributing resources.
- Support the planning, coordination, and hosting of community events, workshops, and family engagement activities.
- Assist with marketing initiatives by creating and distributing promotional materials and helping increase community engagement through various outreach channels.
- Build positive relationships with community partners, organizations, and residents to promote available services and resources.
- Provide general administrative support related to outreach, event coordination, and program activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university, or enrolled in a 3+1 academic pathway program through a community college.
- Demonstrated interest in community engagement, human services, or serving diverse populations.
- Ability and willingness to attend off-site community outreach events, workshops, and program activities.
- Availability to work until 7:00 PM on Tuesdays and until 5:00 PM on other scheduled workdays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with community members and partners.
- Reliable transportation to attend off-site events is preferred.
