The role is a BA (proxy Agile) product owner, gathering use cases and business requirements from stakeholders, the MHLW and the business sponsor and translating that into technical requirements for multiple supporting teams, including ATMOS/DTI, CfOR Programming and CfOR Data Strategy.
- On behalf of the business sponsor, own and articulate the product vision, roadmap, and goals aligned with business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders (including MHLW) and the Agile delivery teams.
- Prioritize the product backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
- Write and groom user stories with clear acceptance criteria and business value.
- Ensure that user stories adequately balance stakeholder needs and business costs and risk.
- Prioritize backlog items based on value, risk, dependencies, and customer impact.
- Provide clear guidance and timely decisions to the development team to maximize delivery efficiency.
- Accept or reject completed work based on agreed acceptance criteria and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, business sponsor, directly with MHLW and multiple solution delivery teams and other roles to ensure smooth delivery.
- Engage stakeholders regularly to gather feedback, manage expectations, and communicate progress.
- Identify and manage product risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Support release planning and ensure delivered increments meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Japanese fluency is required, and Tokyo-based location is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Japanese government agencies is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with pharma industry and/or with real-world data is preferred.
The role will be supported by a DTI CfOR SME/BA, a business project manager, a business sponsor, an NDB subject matter expert, and multiple solution delivery leads.
